Since 1948, Northwood Dental Associates has been a cornerstone of dental care in Lexington, proudly established as the first dental practice in the area by Dr. James Austin.
Today, under the leadership of Dr. Eddie Rodgers, our practice continues to uphold the values of trust and personalized care that have kept generations of families with us for over 50 years. OWNER & DENTIST
Dr. Eddie Rodgers
Dr. Rodgers earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina after graduating from Clemson University. He completed a General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Georgia, focusing on implant placement and IV sedation. He is a member of several professional dental organizations and is committed to staying current with industry advancements.
Active in his community, Dr. Rodgers volunteers with the Lexington Children’s Dental Clinic and participates in dental mission trips to South America. He also serves as a Colonel and State Dental Officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard. Dr. Rodgers has two children, Grey and Bates.
DENTIST
Dr. Whitney Simons
Dr. Whitney, a native of Aiken, SC, is a two-time SC Girls' High School Golf State Champion and scholarship recipient to the University of South Carolina where she played golf and graduated summa cum laude in International Business. She graduated from the College of Dental Medicine at MUSC and was directly commissioned into the U.S. Army serving as a general dentist for seven years. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Joint Base Lewis-McChord just south of Seattle and was stationed at Ft. Moore, GA and Ft. Jackson, SC. She now serves in the SC National Guard.
Dr. Whitney is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, an accomplishment only six percent of general dentists achieve. Passionate about serving others, she has been on over fifteen international dental mission trips. She looks forward to building relationships with patients in the local community and treating their dental needs with compassion. Outside of dentistry she is active in her church, enjoys working out, playing golf, and traveling.

Bess Terrapin

Originally from Barnwell, SC, Bess and her family have called Lexington home for 32 years and she loves that it has everything you could need, plus a hometown feel. Joining the Northwood Dental team in 2014, Bess says, “Our office has a real sense of family and we treat our patients as friends. I really appreciate working at a place like that!” Bess has worked as a Certified Dental Assistant in various dental specialties over the years and has come to value the wide array of knowledge obtained from each one. Bess and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with their family and friends.
Danielle Branham

Schedule Coordinator
Originally from Gaston, SC, Danielle has called Lexington home for over 20 years. Danielle graduated Midlands Technical College in 2002 as a Certified Dental Assistant. She enjoyed 21 years as a chairside dental assistant before transitioning to schedule coordinator. Danielle joined the Northwood Dental team in February 2023. Danielle, and her husband Ken, have 2 children, Parker and Abby Grace. Married 21 years. Parker runs track. Abby Grace is a gymnast. Danielle loves to cook.
Kimberly Branham

Insurance Coordinator
Originally from Lexington, SC, Kimberly resides in Gilbert for over 30 years. Kimberly has been with Northwood Dental Associates since 2018 and has 10 years front desk experience in the dental field. She will assist you with all of your scheduling and insurance needs.
Kimberly and her husband have one child. She enjoys spending time with her family and camping. In her spare time she also enjoys doing car shows with her husband.
Shelsey Battles

Dental Assistant
Originally from Youngstown, OH and currently resides in Lexington, SC for over 16 years. Shelsey graduated from Midlands Tech in 2013 with her certificate in Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. She has been a Dental assistant for 10 years and has been with the Northwood Dental team for over 5 years. Assisting Dr. Rodgers and changing one smile at a time is what she enjoys.
Shelsey has two children, Christian and Preslie. Most of her time is spent taking care of them and finding adventures they can get into. In her spare time she loves to relax under the sun at the lake or beach.
Shelby Snelling

Originally from Gaston, SC, where she still resides. Shelby has been a part of the Northwood Dental team since 2022. Shelby loves running our state of the art sterilization center. Shelby enjoys spending time with her family, visiting the beach, or running around with her dog, Cowboy.
Lindsay Hagood

Lindsay began her dental career 25 years ago as a Dental Assistant working in Oral Surgery. In 2003, she became a Registered Dental Hygienist and obtained her Associates Degree from Midlands Technical College. She then went on to obtain her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University. She resides in Lexington, SC. She is married and has 1 daughter, Harper. Lindsay is quick to make her patients feel at ease by building confidence, trust and friendships with each patient. Her interests involve health and wellness. She loves spending time with her family, going to gym and attending church.

Tracy graduated from Midlands Tech. in 1988 in the hygiene program there. I have enjoyed my career in Dental Hygiene for 36 years. I have been at Northwood Dental for 6 years now and I have really enjoyed working with this great group of dental professionals.I live in Redbank and I am married. We have 3 girls and 2 grandchildren. I Love animals ,enjoy the beach ,and being outside and working in my yard. We are active at Redbank Baptist Church.
Karlee Gibson

Karlee joined the Northwood team in August 2024. She grew up in Irmo, SC and studied at Midlands Technical College where she obtained her dental hygiene education. She lives here in Lexington with her family and their 3 dogs. Karlee is passionate about helping patients take care of their smiles and educating them on how important having a healthy mouth is to their overall health. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking in NC, and crafting.
